๐ A New Chapter Begins
Dear readers and friends, Courageous Wanderer has embarked on a new adventureโdigital nomadism. While Iโve never been a fan of labels, this term perfectly captures the essence of my new lifestyle.
To clarify, Iโve worked remotely for over three years continuously. Before that, I had multiple stints of remote work spanning my career. Given this background, itโs no surprise that an office environment felt completely unnatural to meโa setting that drained time, energy, and creativity.

๐ซ The Official Beginnings
This year, I embarked on my first workationโand once I started, I couldnโt stop. Within two months, I packed in three separate workations, even the short ones lasting just three days.
But do you know what the most surreal moment was? Buying a one-way ticket for the first time in my life. The freedom was indescribable.
โก๏ธ Where was I going? To stay with friends by the sea.
โก๏ธ How long would I stay? No idea. Three days? Three weeks? Maybe longer? Who knows!

โ ๏ธ A Word of Caution
Digital nomadism isnโt for everyone. If youโve just landed your first remote job, or youโre transitioning from corporate life, itโs not advisable to jump straight into workations.
๐ Take at least 3-6 months to discipline yourself before trying a workation. If youโre used to someone telling you when to work, when to take breaks, or when to eat lunch, youโll need to build self-discipline first.

๐ The Origins
My journey into digital nomadism started unexpectedlyโduring the pandemic. Just as I had begun my first official remote job, I suffered a complete Achillesโ tendon rupture, leaving me bedridden for six months.
Once I finally regained mobility, I delayed my first workation for two monthsโnot because I couldnโt travel, but because for the first time, I wasnโt limited. That kind of freedom takes time to adjust to.

๐ค The Digital Nomad Community
One of the most exciting aspects of this lifestyle is the digital nomad (DN) community. These communities are filled with:
โ
Remote employees
โ
Consultants & freelancers
โ
Business owners
โ
Travelers embracing flexibility
In DN communities, nobody cares where you were born or what passport you hold. What matters is an open mind, curiosity, and a love for new cultures.

โ๏ธ 2024: A Year of Transitions
As of mid-September 2024, Iโve only visited three new countries. My total is now 38 countries, which is a solid numberโbut this year has been more about adapting to my new lifestyle than just traveling.
Expect more updates on my adventures and in-depth insights into digital nomadism.
