Sintra – the best getaway in 2024?

There are two things that surprised me in Sintra completely, which I was absolutely unready for. The first one is the fact you can take public transport from Lisbon to Sintra each 30 minutes, where you can use the regular city public cards for the ride. Again, great job to the Administration of Lisbon! The second one was the amount of necessary climbing. Do not follow my lead, but rather heed my words – do NOT, under any circumstances, spend the day before visiting Sintra walking! And don’t think you can climb it all on tired feet – take the hop-on-hop-off bus. Now let me show you a similar adventure to the one I had in Nice, going on a day trip to Eze.

The European Capital of Color and Sound – Lisbon in 2024 (part II)

Have I mentioned how Lisbon is not a very spacious city and around 80% of the main attractions can be seen within a day? The second day of my adventure was saved for a visit to Sintra – this will be the topic of my next post. Other than that, we can walk around the spaces within the Lisbon area. So, with no further ado, let’s jump directly into our Lisbon adventure.

The European Capital of Color and Sound – Lisbon in 2024

…And you guessed it. In the middle of writing my second Vienna post, I left for the airport, to travel to Lisbon – with no idea of how far it truly is. A regular flight would take around four hours, but due to strong winds upon landing, it took much closer to five. Also, the local wind was so strong, not only did the plane have to circle around the airport to descend, but my head was blowing up of aches, despite not even having been outside. And then I was shocked to hear about the time zone difference. Knowing how small the continent of Europe is, I’d never expect a physical neighbor of Spain to be in a different time zone. Oh well, I may have underestimated my continent by birthright, having lived in much more spacious areas.

Three days to visit Vienna in 2024 (part II)

Picking up where we left off, the second day in Vienna is always bound to be filled with excitement and adventures. And, for a fact, it was my first time to stay in Vienna overnight. My happiness was endless, especially after the unforgettable moments in Belgium and the Netherlands (in particular Antwerp!). Vienna definitely falls into the same category as the above-mentioned Antwerp or Barcelona. Although all three cities have their own unique experiences to offer, and vary 100% in their atmosphere, all three are European cities with a strong presence, souls of their own, if you will. You are never alone in these three cities, as the city itself will always accompany you, by walking along your side.

Three days to visit Vienna in 2024 (part I)

Vienna is one of my favorite European cities because, at the same time, it’s the most and the least European city out there. On one hand, all the architecture is strictly European in style. On the other hand, so many non-natives, as well as not very European traditions guide the city’s atmosphere. For example, Christmas decorations, in the holiday season. Sure, you will find most locations around the world decorated during “the most wonderful time of the year”. However, Vienna will resemble New York from the “Home alone” franchise, unlike the remainder of places of the Old Continent.

✨ “Cities, like dreams, are made of desires and fears.” – Italo Calvino When I set foot in Warsaw, I had only a vague idea of what awaited me. The city, once devastated during World War II, has risen from the ashes with broad avenues, towering skyscrapers, and sleek modern architecture. But what truly struck me was how effortlessly I navigated the city, thanks to its well-connected bus, metro, and tram lines. Plus, the affordability compared to the rest of Europe was a delightful surprise. đź’° #WarsawAdventures #TravelPoland #CulinaryJourney #CopernicusExperience #HistoryUnveiled
